I really admire her and respect her and like her, and I think that’s evident in the movie. I couldn’t help but be impressed by her. Just as a person and also professionally, because of the way we worked: We didn’t necessarily know what the other was going to do. And I was constantly impressed by the choices she was making. And it was something that motivated me to match that, and Derek is so smart, because he set it up so we could capture that. The truth is, we really are getting to know each other on-camera, through these characters. We spent years developing these characters and didn’t really share them with one another. When he said “action,” it was time for show and tell.
